Meet the team
Sodor Geosciences was founded in 2018 by Principal Consultant Chris Bargmann, a professional geologist with broad international experience in mineral exploration and mining.
He holds Geology degrees from Leicester and Cardiff universities and is a Chartered Geologist (CGeol FGS), and a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Chris began his career with De Beers in Botswana and JCI in South Africa, later working with UK consulting groups and on projects across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas. His expertise spans the full exploration cycle – from target generation to resource estimation – and includes both open-pit and
underground mining.
He has worked on gold, copper, chromite, and diamond projects, with experience in epithermal and porphyry systems, orogenic gold, IOCG, and VMS deposits.
He has deep knowledge of the Arabian Nubian Shield, gained through fifteen years leading exploration in Sudan, Egypt, Eritrea and Saudi Arabia.
Chris is a competent person for mineral reporting codes and has contributed to several NI 43-101 and JORC reports. He has published multiple papers and presented widely at industry conferences.
